The Icelandic advertising agency Sahara has been nominated for the GDXA award in the category of the world's best advertising agencies in social media.


The awards are presented in 48 categories, including Best Use of Personal Data, Best Aid Campaign and Best Pandemic Response Campaign to name a few.

Loss of income for a large part of Icelandic influencers due to the corona virus

Davíð Lúther Sigurðarson, owner and managing director of the advertising agency Sahara, says that the influencer market in Iceland is rapidly expanding. Icelandic influencers charge anywhere from 50 to 200 thousand ISK for one post. Many influencers are now struggling with a loss of income due to the corona virus and need to adapt to the changing conditions.

There has been quite a bit of discussion recently that the Norwegian Tourism Agency prefers to use social media to encourage citizens to travel domestically this summer.
